Here’s a nifty project. Create a magnetized board that doubles as a chalk board and put it on the refrigerator doors. The boards were cut from a 2′ x 4′ chalkboard board from the home improvement store. That’s one nice thing about having a table saw at the house.
Malcolm coated both boards with three coats of the magnetic base paint, then two coats of the chalkboard paint.
Once everything was dry, Malcolm mounted the boards on the refrigerator door with velcro Command Strips. The chalkboard paint recommended not writing on the surface for three days, and we don’t have any fridge magnets out here yet, so the boards are blank for now. After looking at them on one door, we decided we would go ahead and do a set for the other doors, as well.
I have enjoyed reading your blog, but now I am wondering where you got the magnetic chalkboards?
Ooops, I should have read first. So sorry! I just got excited! LOL
I guess we should modify the phrase to “Seek and read and ye shall find.” Glad the article helped and thanks for reading!
