Current Location: Fort Wilderness Campground, Disney World, Florida
Val was feeling better today, so we took our time and headed to the bus stop to catch the bus to the Animal Kingdom. Apparently, the bus was slow in getting to the campground to pick up passengers heading to Animal Kingdom, as the crowd of people at the bus stop almost all got up to get on the bus when it did arrive. Another bus driver had just asked how long people had been waiting, and some said as long as 30 minutes.
We walked on into the park once the bus dropped us off and headed over so that Malcolm could ride the one coaster at Animal Kindgom – Expedition Everest. It was here that Malcolm found the joys of the single rider line. Instead of standing in line with dozens of other people, Malcolm was able to just walk up to the front and wait until there was an odd-numbered party of people riding. Once an odd number show up, the single rider is put in with them to make an even number. Malcolm was able to ride the coaster three different times and never had to wait more than about 2 minutes to get on.
We also rode around the park on the safari truck to get pictures of the animals out on the range. It was a great ride, but rather bumpy for taking good pictures. Malcolm did his best, though, and brought back several neat pictures (shared at the end of the post). We left the Animal Kingdom around 2:30 or so and rode the bus back to the campground. We stopped at the Pioneer theater in the campground and made reservations for the 4:00 dinner and show of the Hoop-De-Doo Review.
With reservations made, and it being a little before 3, we walked back to the trailer and rested for a bit before heading back out for dinner and a show. It was a great time and the food was pretty good, as well. After dinner, we walked back to the trailer and sat outside for a short while before heading in for the evening.
Not sure where we will go tomorrow. We still have two days’ worth of park tickets and about that many days’ worth of meals. We’ll see.
