Current Location: Fort Toulouse Campground, Wetumpka, Alabama
Short post today. We’re back at our home campground.
The truck ran fine other than the engine cooling fan seemed to run more than we though necessary, even though it was 85 degrees outside. Maybe nothing, but Malcolm wants to check to see if the radiator(s) need to be flushed out. Could be full of bugs and gunk.
When we got to Fort Toulouse, Val went in to pay for our stay while Malcolm pulled around to the dump station to empty our tanks (about 3 days worth of stuff). We ended up in our favorite riverfront site (see picture at the top of the blog).
After we got set up, we ate lunch. Malcolm took the truck to an empty site and washed it there after lunch. We tidied up around the trailer then headed over to the house to drop off some things, pick up other things and grab our mail and packages.
We took our son to town and stopped to do some shopping (Home Depot for a couple of trailer items, Costco and Publix for grocery and medicine items, and Five Guys since it was dinner time).
After dropping David off at the house, we came on back to the trailer and unloaded stuff. Malcolm’s back to work tomorrow. We’re here for a week and a half, then it’s down to the Gulf coast for a regional Heartland Owners’ Club rally at Gulf State Park.
Glad to hear that things are going well again. Troubles on the road are never any fun. We can all tell tales of the woes of our lifestyle, but we keep doing it because the rewards are greater. Next week we will take a short maiden voyage ( about 80 miles i think) to Lake Patagonia and really get acquainted with Bertha for 3 nights. I will do a short post then.
