Avery Island

Current Location: Cajun Palms RV Resort, Henderson, Louisiana

Today, we went to visit Avery Island to see them make Tabasco Sauce and visit the Jungle Gardens. First, we paid a dollar toll at the toll booth. Then we headed up to the factory to take the factory tour. It consisted of a brief speech by an employee who then led us into a room, handed us samples and started up a 10 minute film.

After the film, we wandered down a hallway next to where the product is produced, then back outside to wander over to the store. We ate lunch there on-site, then shopped in the store to pick up some gifts. After that, we headed over to the Jungle Gardens, which is a driving tour.

After our sightseeing adventure, we headed to our friends’ apartment and “kidnapped” them to take them to the RV park to see our trailer and cook them dinner (burgers and dogs on the grill). We dropped them off this evening and came back to the trailer just in time for some thunderstorms to roll through.

Here are some pictures from today’s fun.
