Family, Food, Fun, Fireworks

Current Location: Gig Harbor RV Resort, Gig Harbor, Washington

Sorry for the gap in posting, but we’ve been having a great time out here in Washington. On Wednesday, we visited with Elizabeth and the grandchildren during the day. On the way out of the campground Wednesday morning, we checked to see how much longer we could stay there and found out we could stay until Sunday (instead of Saturday) without having to move.

That works out well, as after Sunday, Elizabeth and family will be back home. So, we checked with the Puyallup Fairgrounds and signed up for a few days at their campground. That will put us much closer to our daughter’s house (not to mention save us on tolls coming in from Gig Harbor). We’ll move the trailer mid-day on Sunday. Since we’re officially going to work in San Diego, we can stay about 4 more days.

On Thursday, the 4th, there were lots of family and friends out at Fox Island to celebrate the fourth. The first major event was the annual “Waffle Off”, where everyone that wants to puts in their imaginative waffle entry. The judges were good friends of the family. Our son and daughter each tied for third place for their respective entries.

It was a relaxing afternoon. The children played, we had ribs and fixin’s for dinner. Fireworks were set off after dark.

Today, on Friday, Malcolm and David went golfing. They got back late afternoon in time for dinner. The rest of the evening was spent relaxing and visiting.

Here are some more pictures from the fourth.
