Current Location: Paradise Pier Hotel, Disneyland, Anaheim, California
Today we decided to knock another item off our bucket list, since we are still on the left coast. We got up super early this morning and were on the road from El Cajon at 6:00 AM. We arrived at Disneyland shortly before 8:00 AM and parked in the second row of cars that they were lining up in the parking lot.
Since we had hotel reservations for this evening, but weren’t sure if we could park at the hotel before we checked in, the cast member at the parking booth for the parks gave us free parking, rather than us having to potentially drive to the hotel, find out we couldn’t park there, then have to drive back over again. It’s nice to know that Disney empowers their employees to allow them to make such decisions.
We walked and walked and walked. Malcolm rode the fast rides, we both rode the slower rides. We shopped (but not too much), ate, had a blast and headed to the car to drive over to the hotel a little after 3:00 PM. We got checked in there, dropped our stuff and walked back over to the California Adventure Park.
We ended up staying through the 9:00 World of Color show and walked our weary feet back to the hotel and plopped down on the bed around 10:00 PM. We had one day tickets to the park, so we’ll lounge around in the morning, grab a nice breakfast at the hotel, then check out and head to our next adventure tomorrow. You’ll have to check back in tomorrow evening to see what we’ve got cooking for Sunday.
One other note – the Ford dealer called mid-morning and indicated our truck was fixed. It turned out to apparently be a bad bolt or pulley for the water pump (which they recently replaced), so they put a new pulley and bolts on as well as a new belt and something else (will have to look at the paper work after we get back in town). Val will walk over Monday morning and pick it up. There was no charge for today’s work.
