We haven’t posted for a few days, but it has mostly just been work for Malcolm and some modifications for both of us. We’ve been replacing our window treatments in the kitchen, hall and bedroom over the past couple of weeks and Val completed the last of the items today.
We converted the kitchen windows from metal miniblinds after the one on the long (6 foot) window finally gave up the ghost. That window got curtains. The window over the sink got the same treatment that the hall and bedroom windows received – roller shade and valance curtains. Here are some pictures:
The trailer is very light and airy looking inside now, except for the living room. Now that we see all the new shades and valances up, we’re thinking of ditching the remaining cornice boards in the living room and putting up some valance curtains over the existing wood blinds (which we like). We may do that in a couple weeks, while we are stopped in Texas for Malcolm to work.
Speaking of work, tomorrow is Malcolm’s last day at work here. Good thing, as we have been itching to be on the road for a couple days now. This is the longest we’ve been in one spot since we officially started traveling this year. We’ll start breakdown activities tomorrow evening. We’ll have to take the rental car back and get our final receipt from the campground (they’ll have to read the electric meter to bill us for the electricity we’ve used) before we can head out.
