Tuesday morning, we were up with the sun. We packed up our overnight stuff and hopped in the car to head to the airport parking lots. We parked in our usual lot that we use when we fly out of Atlanta (i.e. the least expensive one, though their prices have gone up lately). After a quick bus ride, we were at the airport checking one bag and breezing through security.
The flights were on US Air, which gave us a decent layover in Charlotte, North Carolina. That gave us time to eat a good lunch at the airport before boarding our plane to head to Seattle. The flight to Seattle was pretty quiet. Once in Seattle, we picked up our son-in-law’s car from the parking garage (he flew out on business last weekend and left the claim check number for us). We drove on to our daughter’s home to give her and the grandbabies hugs.
After visiting for a bit, we packed up and headed to dinner at Famous Dave’s BBQ. After a great dinner, we headed over to the mall and the play place so the girls could play. Val and Malcolm took turns walking around the mall to look at stuff. Afterwards, we walked over to Target and did a little shopping before heading home and getting ready for bed after snacks.
Wednesday, we all got up and had breakfast. After breakfast, we all loaded up and headed over to take Violet to pre-school for the morning. Violet gave us a brief tour of her classroom and we met her teachers. We headed back to the house to wait for pre-school to be over (2 hours). Our daughter, Elizabeth, went over and picked up Violet and brought her home.
After pre-school, we had lunch at the house and the girls went down for a nap. After naps and fun time, we fixed Skyline Chili for dinner (the girls just had spaghetti). After dinner, per request from Violet, we headed over to the Super Mall to ride the carousel. We also walked around a bit and got some exercise.
Thursday, we all got up and got dressed and headed to the Point Defiance Zoo. We spent all morning there, then headed out around noon to get lunch. Scarlet fell asleep in the car, so we did Taco Bell drive-through for lunch, eating on the way home. Scarlet woke up as we pulled in the driveway, so she had a short nap.
Malcolm decided to take a nap in the afternoon while the girls headed down to Sumner to walk around the shops and took the children to a park.
Malcolm headed down in the car to meet everyone at the Main Street Dairy Freeze for dinner. We all headed back to the house for Violet to take a short nap. Then we went out for a walk and came home for snacks.
Here are some zoo pictures.
