Still in Washington

Current Location: Edgewood, Washington

Sorry! We have been having so much fun with our grandchildren that we haven’t blogged too much. Here’s a catch-up post for you. Rather than a day-by-day breakdown of events, here are a few random tidbits with accompanying photos when available.

On Friday, our son-in-law flew home from a business trip in San Francisco. Malcolm and Violet went to the airport to pick him up and bring him home. Violet was excited to see her Daddy and, before leaving for the airport, made him a welcome home card that he enjoyed reading on the way home.

The weekend was rather relaxing. We all got up too late for church on Sunday, so we spent a mostly lazy day around the house. It was very rainy from Friday through Monday, so we did a lot of indoor activities such as walking around malls. Today, it was a little less gloomy, so we went to the Tacoma Mall and ate lunch at the Spaghetti Factory.

Here are a bunch of pictures showing what we’ve been up to the past few days.

Monday night, Malcolm and our son-in-law, Cole, went over to a friend’s house to work on repairing the floor in Cole’s boat. The wood was rotten, so we helped while his friend and his uncle cut out the floor of the boat.

Today is our last full day here visiting. Val has been doing laundry and we’ll be packing up our bags this evening. It seems like a really short week that we’ve been here. We’re still waiting on hearing if we will be working in Houston next week or not. Tomorrow is the last day to find out if we are. Malcolm told them at work that we’ve got plans the latter part of this week (taking Val’s car to Louisiana where we are selling it to some friends) and Thursday we’ll be packing up to head down there. If we aren’t working in Houston, we’ll leave the trailer in Alabama and spend the night with our friends before heading back.
