Current Location: Fort Toulouse Campground, Wetumpka, Alabama
We got up this morning after a decent night’s sleep at the truck stop (we both had a little too much caffeine too late in the day yesterday) and walked over to the main building. We enjoyed a warm breakfast in their diner (our “campground fee”) before heading back up the road. We arrived at Ft. Toulouse around 11:00 AM. We got set up and headed out to get some shopping done.
After stopping by Costco, JoAnn Fabrics, lunch at Moe’s, Target, Earth Fare (great butcher counter) and Publix, we headed back to the trailer to unload. After that, we headed over to the house. Malcolm wanted to check out the new doors we had installed on the house and try to find where one of them is leaking water (from the last rain). Since we’ll be painting the trim after we get back next week, we’ll do some more sealing on the door at that time.
We picked up our mail and boxes as well as Callie and her gear and headed back out to the trailer. We got her settled in and sat down to eat leftovers for dinner. After dinner, Val sorted through the cabinets to straighten them out after our curb surfing incident leaving Houston.
We’ll probably be here a couple days. We have reservations starting Wednesday up in Decatur, Alabama for a Heartland rally. That’s only a 3-4 hour drive, so we’ll probably plan on heading out Wednesday morning. However, we are waiting on word regarding arrangements for one of Val’s cousins that passed away recently up in Kentucky. We may or may not attend those services depending on timing.
Man, I’m sure glad I don’t run errands with you two. After lunch at Moe’s I’d be whining to go home.
