We got up late this morning and took our time getting moving. The cold temperatures (low 40’s) outside didn’t encourage much faster movement.
Our first task of the day was to get the two totes of cold weather clothing out from under the trailer and swap in cold weather clothing to the closet and put away some of our warmer weather items to be stored back in the basement. During the process, both of us piled up things we no longer wear and wanted to pare down. We ended up with a garbage bag full of clothes and another bag partially filled with clothes and hangers.
Once out and moving, Malcolm borrowed a ladder from Nathan to check on the two clearance lights on the front of our trailer that were not working. He found that the off-door side light had no wires running to it (they have pulled out). Later, he found that the center light had pulled completely out of the lens and has fallen inside our front cap somewhere.
The door side light still works and still has a wire hooked to it. However, on pulling the wire, it will come out about a foot, but has a heavy weight inside the cap pulling it down. We suspect that since the clearance lights are small LED lights that there is a box of some type to take the 12V power down to a smaller voltage to drive the LEDs and that box has come loose, pulling the wires or lights out of the fixtures, above. Malcolm will try to verify that with someone. The only way to fix it at this point is to cut into the closet wall in the front of the trailer and try to re-wire it back up.
Since fixing the lights wasn’t going to happen today, and since Malcolm had a nice long extension ladder to work with, we bought a new bottle of bug and tar remover and he cleaned the front cap. We also did a little shopping for shoes, dropped off the giveaway clothing at a Salvation Army thrift store and ate lunch at Moe’s.
Today’s dinner was a rally pitch-in of Italian food. Val cooked up a baked Ziti dish. We all gathered at the pavilion a bit early due to the cold temperatures (outdoor pavilion) and shared our dishes. Everything was great. We had a fire to stand around and chat.
Everyone started heading back shortly before dark to warm up in their trailers. We had a couple folks stop by and tour our trailer to see some of our mods after dinner.
