Cooking and Packing

Current Location: Fort Toulouse Campground, Wetumpka, Alabama

Yesterday, Val and David spent the day assembling and pre-cooking dinners for the next couple of weeks. Doing it at the house saved a lot of time and effort, as well as allowed the use of the dishwasher to clean up the pots and pans. Val dropped the meals in the freezer at the house.

Today was laundry day. Val spent the afternoon doing laundry and picked up the frozen food from the house and took it all to the trailer. She failed to leave today’s dinner out to thaw, so we ended up going to Ruby Tuesday for dinner.

This evening was spent packing all the Christmas presents in boxes to ship ahead to Washington. We’ll gift wrap or bag everything once we are out there. Val is addressing them now and we’ll have everything ready to go for tomorrow. That will give them plenty of time to get there.

Of course, Malcolm was working at the office both days. Last night, he finished up the flooring projects in the living room and kitchen at the house by nailing up the last of the quarter round molding. He also finished putting molding in the hall closet that he forgot to trim out way back when we did the flooring last summer. Now, it is on to cleaning and painting trim (inside and out).
