Current Location: Lafayette KOA, Scott, Louisiana
We awoke early this morning (Tuesday, 4/1) to the sound of rain on the roof. Fortunately, it was a light shower that passed quickly, leaving the sun to come out and warm up the morning. We got hooked up and stopped by the dump station to clear the tanks and we were on the road by 8:30 am.
Our original plan was to stop somewhere between Montgomery and Lafayette, Louisiana where we were heading to visit our friends Nick and Sheila. Malcolm had identified a couple nice campgrounds in the Biloxi area as it is at the halfway point. We stopped for lunch about 30 minutes from Biloxi and realized we could easily make Lafayette by dinner time, so we moved our KOA reservation there up a day and forged on.
We arrived at 5:30 pm, checked in, set up the trailer and headed down to Nick and Sheila’s apartment to meet up with them. We all piled into Nick’s car and went to dinner at Longhorn Steakhouse. It was a fun, but short visit. After getting back to the apartment, we said our goodbyes (it was almost 9:00 by then) and headed back to the trailer. Malcolm took some Benadryl for his allergies and wiped out pretty quickly (which is why he is catching up the blog over breakfast on Wednesday morning).
