Rally Day 2

Current Location: Gulf State Park, Gulf Shores, Alabama

Val was up early this morning while Malcolm slept in a bit. Our “porch” was a great place for her to spend the morning while Malcolm went to attend a demonstration given by Bob Mansolito on how to care for and repair your solid surface countertops in your RV.

Bob worked in the countertop business for years and knows all kinds of tricks and tips that he often shows to the rest of us. He even followed up by polishing the countertops in a few peoples’ rigs this afternoon.

After the countertop demonstration was over, we had leftover food from Lambert’s for lunch. Afterwards, Malcolm wanted to head down to the beach and try out the kite he had purchased yesterday. The gulf breeze was just perfect for flying a kite and Malcolm had a blast. Val wandered down to the water to get her toes wet and enjoy the sound of the surf.

After the kite flying expedition, we drove around for a while and found a bicycle shop. We had been wanting to get a couple things for the bikes so we stopped in and grabbed a nifty rack and basket for Val’s bike, as well as a couple pairs of lights for both bikes for safer riding in the dark.

With the bikes taken care of, we rode around a bit, then headed back to the trailer to take it easy for a bit. Then it was time to start cooking our dish for this evening’s potluck supper. There was lots of great food and fun. After dinner, we headed back to the trailer to wind down for the evening.
