Current Location: Cove Creek RV Resort, Sevierville, Tennessee
On day 2 of the rally, we rode into town with Wayne and Nita Cooper and Dick and Reta Hill. We had a great breakfast at the Applewood Farmhouse Restaurant in Pigeon Forge. After breakfast, we headed back to the campground.
We headed back out later in the morning to do some shopping at the Old Mill down in Pigeon Forge. We also walked around a few other shops before heading back to the campground. We stopped on the way in to check out the new Landmark fifth wheels that RVs for Less brought in. We have seen both floorplans before (Key Largo and Savannah), but it is always fun to see what new touches have been added from year to year.
It was 2:00 before someone mentioned lunch and we realized we were getting hungry. We ended up making a run up to Elvira’s Cafe to get sandwiches before they closed at 2:30 for the afternoon. Malcolm had a Reuben sandwich and Val had the chicken salad. Both were delicious.
We spent the rest of the afternoon relaxing in the trailer before dinner. Val made macaroni and cheese for the pitch-in portion. We gathered for a group portrait at 6:15 PM then on to the clubhouse for a late start to a 6:30 dinner.
A representative from Wears Valley Ranch gave a short presentation about the work they do there with orphaned children. He brought two young men to also tell what they do at the ranch and what their favorite things are. Our club donated a lot of paper products and other things that the ranch can use. We also handed off a cash donation of close to $500.
We headed back to trailer after dinner and took it easy the rest of the evening. Malcolm wasn’t feeling really good, so he headed on to bed instead of posting our blog post (he is posting this on Sunday afternoon as a catchup). Here are some pictures from the last two days.
