Current Location: Kentucky Horse Park Campground, Lexington, Kentucky
We rolled out of the KOA in Nashville about 8:00 AM (central time) this morning and arrived at the Horse Park at 1:00 PM (eastern time). It was a pretty quiet and straight drive up I-65 and the Bluegrass Parkway. We only made one stop about halfway. Once here and set up, we had lunch in the trailer and headed to the grocery store to grab a few items.
Once we were back from the grocery, we relaxed for a little bit and decided to take care of a small item – putting felt pads on the bottom of the legs of our recliners. They had little plastic button-type glides that were making small indentations in our vinyl plank flooring. While we had the chairs out, we pulled the rest of the furniture out of that slide and gave the carpet a good cleaning.
We headed down to Lexington to pick up a couple items at Lowes and meet Val’s sister Anne and our niece Jasmine for dinner to celebrate Anne’s birthday. We ate at Ned’s Montana Grill, which apparently specializes in various bison dishes. Malcolm had a bison steak which he said was pretty good. After dinner, we headed back to the trailer.
When we were at Lowes earlier in the day, we picked up a shelf unit we liked that was meant to be installed over our dresser in place of the TV (that we never use). We couldn’t remember the exact measurements of the space where the shelf would go, so went ahead and bought it anyway. We found out it was about 3 inches too long, so we loaded it back in the truck and headed to another Lowes to take it back. While there, we picked up a new Hunter ceiling fan for the trailer, taking advantage of the 20% off sale this weekend. We’ll install the fan sometime once we are back in Nashville. It will be replacing the current fan that we have.
We stopped over to see Anne’s new house, just a few miles away in Georgetown. After taking the tour, we headed back home to the trailer to relax.
