Current Location: Nashville KOA, Nashville, Tennessee
Today is the second anniversary of our full-time RV living. On this day in 2012, we took delivery of our Big Country fifth wheel from Dixie RV in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. We spent the night on their lot to try everything out to see if anything needed to be fixed the next day before we left. Our initial plans were to take the trailer home, store it during the week and take it out on the weekends. Those plans changed, however, when we started living in it right away.
We ended up sleeping in this morning, so we missed going to church like we had planned. Instead, we took it easy this morning and went out to lunch at Famous Dave’s BBQ. Val had printed off a coupon for Malcolm’s birthday and we used that to get $10 off our tab. They also brought out a dessert for Malcolm and the ladies sitting at the bar nearby waiting for their table broke out into the Happy Birthday song.
We got a lot of little things done around the trailer today (and a couple big things). Val did some more organizational items around the place. Malcolm finally installed the two pieces of flexible quarter round molding that we’ve had for some time now. We bought stain the day we got back into Nashville this week and Malcolm stained the pieces yesterday.
The big things that got done were that Malcolm washed the entire outside of the trailer and then used our orbital buffer to buff out the front cap. Malcolm eventually plans to wax the rest of the rig using the buffer, but ran out of steam today. The remainder of the trailer won’t be as time-consuming as the front cap was.
