Current Location: Solid Rock RV Park, Eastland, Texas
On Friday morning, Malcolm got up early and headed into Eastland to get the oil changed on the truck. He got checked into the Ford dealer around 8:00 and by 9:00 was done. He headed through Eastland and found a do-it-yourself car wash and sprayed all the travel junk off the truck. He headed on back to the campground.
We loaded into the car with Erika and headed back into town later in the morning to do some grocery shopping at WalMart. We came on back home to put our groceries away. Later in the afternoon Dan and Ann Mayer, some more fellow Heartland Owners Club members, pulled into the park, making for a three trailer mini-rally.
Friday evening, we headed to Cicso to see the Cisco Loboes (high school) football team play, but more importantly, to see and hear the Cisco marching band. Tony Dorsey is the assistant band director for the high school. The band did great and we ended up staying for the whole game, which Cisco won.
Today we piled into our truck and headed into town to meet Tony at the pizza buffet for lunch. After an excellent lunch, Tony headed on to school to take his band to the first band competition of the season. The rest of us headed back to the trailers. We visited this afternoon and decided to throw together a small potluck dinner (it wouldn’t be a mini-rally without a mini-potluck).
After dinner, we sat around and talked for a while. The Mayers needed to start packing up since they are leaving in the morning. We went ahead and said our goodbyes in case we don’t get to see them off in the morning.
