In Alabama for a Couple Weeks

Current Location: Fort Toulouse Campground, Wetumpka, Alabama

We were out the door fairly early again today. Malcolm got the front tanks dumped since we were heading to a park without sewer hookups. The rear tank got dumped before we left Wichita Falls. It decided to drizzle rain on us while we were hooking up this morning, though we drove out from under it after a while.

The drive was relatively painless. We took I-20 until we got to Alabama, then US 80 to Selma, then AL 14 from there to Prattville. David split off (since he is following in his car) to head to Montgomery to visit with friends. We went on to Fort Toulouse and set up the trailer. We drove around the loop trying to find a river-side site, but the place was fairly full and none were to be found. We ended up on the non-river side of the park.

After visiting with a few folks, we headed into Montgomery to get some dinner and do a little shopping. We had dinner at Red Robin, then headed to Dick’s Sporting Goods where we found the Coleman grill we’ve decided to get but couldn’t find in Wichita Falls. We also picked up a couple new camp chairs to replace our older “soccer” chairs, which have seen better days.

Val picked up some yarn at JoAnn’s and we headed back toward the trailer. We stopped at Entec to fill up the truck (at $3.30 for diesel) on the way.
