Current Location: Lookout Mtn. / Chattanooga West KOA, Trenton, Georgia
Today we took our time getting going and headed up to Rock City in Lookout Mountain. We had purchased tickets back in spring of 2013 as part of a package but the weather wasn’t favorable back then, so we are just now using them. When we got there (in our short sleeves and shorts), it was a tad windy and cool. We ended up buying jackets in the gift shop first thing. Naturally the weather turned comfortable within an hour.
We visited and Malcolm took pictures with the big camera. After exploring the entire site, we stopped through the gift shops to look around some more and ate lunch at their grill. After lunch, we headed down the mountain and stopped by the post office to mail out some things. From there, we headed across town to McKay’s Used Books and picked up a few books and a stack of $1.95 DVDs.
After McKay’s, we filled up the truck at a nearby Speedway service station for $3.19 a gallon (diesel). That is the lowest price we’ve paid for diesel without using fuel discounts of any kind. After filling up, we headed back to the campground to relax for the rest of the afternoon and evening. Malcolm scanned more photos and copied some of his new movies off the DVDs and onto the media server computer.
Here are some pictures from today’s outing:
Thanks for sharing your adventures and the wonderful pictures. For those of us that cannot travel such as you folks, we are blessed that your share your time and effort to write such interesting post. I try to read your daily adventure every night before pulling down the shades.
Thanks!!
A hundred years ago, Dave & I went to Rock City was bright sunny afternoon, spent a little time & enjoyed the stop.
