Weekend Fun

Current Location: Pineglen RV Park, Panama City Beach, Florida

On Friday, we drove out to the base and met David for lunch. He changed into his uniform and we headed out to the beach at the base to take a few family portraits. After that, we headed back to drop David off and then headed on down the road. We decided to drive to Mexico Beach, which is the next nearest place with a campground with decent ratings. Though the drive is on higher speed roads with almost no traffic signals, we found that the campground wasn’t nearly as nice as the one we are staying in.

Today, David and his two friends that had dinner with us Thursday came out to the trailer. We headed over to Mellow Mushroom for lunch, then Val dropped the guys off at a go-kart place. The guys rode the go-karts once at the first place, then walked about a mile up the road to a better one where they spent the rest of the afternoon.

After wearing themselves out riding go-karts all afternoon (using all-day passes), the guys hopped in the truck and we all headed back to the trailer. David and his friends headed on back to base. Val and Malcolm went out for dinner and had salads. We also walked around Pier Park for a bit, including a stop at Target for a couple things we needed.

The original plan was to leave here in the morning (Sunday), though we are going to check with the campground to see if we can stay one more day. We have several days until our next planned stop in Virginia and we would like to visit with David one more day if possible.
