Anniversary Weekend

Current Location: Mission Bay RV Resort, San Diego, California

This weekend we celebrated our 29th wedding anniversary. On Saturday, we tried to do some sightseeing at Balboa Park, but it was a big mess of people and cars.

Instead, we did some shopping for things we needed and dribbled a little gas into the rental car. Malcolm picked up a new seat for his bike and once home, we got the bikes out, cleaned and lubed them up and took a ride.

This morning, we started out with a late breakfast of IKEA cinnamon rolls. We headed out with our golf clubs to the Mission Bay Golf Course right next door to the RV park. We both hit a bucket of balls until our arms were tired. Then we headed back to the trailer.

After we changed out of our golf duds, we headed towards the ocean and had lunch at Oggi’s Pizza Express. It was really good pizza.

We walked around and looked in a few shops. Malcolm ran across a hair place that was open and not busy, so he stepped in to get a haircut. We eventually walked down to the beach. Malcolm put his feet in the water (cold), but that was about it. You couldn’t see much, though.

We hopped in the car and drove up the coast for a while, just sightseeing, before heading back to the trailer. We changed into nicer clothes and headed downtown for the mystery dinner date at The Melting Pot. We enjoyed a great fondue meal and our wait person even brought us a couple of gourmet chocolate dipped strawberries when she heard it was our anniversary.
