Current Location: Spring Gulch RV Resort, New Holland, Pennsylvania
We drove around Gettysburg on Monday, taking in the various sites. We picked up a guide book at the visitor center and decided to just do some exploring on our own. We stopped in to downtown at lunch time to eat lunch at a local Irish pub. The rain started pouring down when we came out from lunch, so we ducked into a few shops to wander about, then drove down to Hanover, PA to pick up some items at JoAnn Fabrics.
On Tuesday, we took our time since we didn’t need to leave our site until as late as possible. Checkout time in Gettysburg was 1:00 and check-in time at our next location was 3:00. If we drove the most efficient route, it would have been under 2 hours drive time. We decided on a route that would take us by a Blue Beacon truck wash to get the entire rig washed up and that we would leave around 1:00.
Since we had Tuesday morning to burn, we headed out early and walked around the Gettysburg National Cemetery for a bit. We also decided to eat lunch out at a local buffet. When we got back and hooked up the trailer, we ended up pulling out of our site at exactly 1:00.

The truck wash was busy, so we ended up spending more than an hour in line before it was our turn. We had the truck and trailer washed and the tires shined up. Once done, we hit the road east. It was a couple hour drive from the truck wash to the campground, so we ended up arriving around 5:00 PM. We are here for a Northeast Regional Rally of the Heartland Owners Club. Several of our friends were already here and many more arrived over the course of the week.

On Wednesday, we went sightseeing in Hershey, Pennsylvania. We took the free factory tour ride and shopped at the Hershey store for gifts. We also ate lunch in their food court area. After that, we headed back out to the campground.

We’ve been busy with various rally activities the rest of the week. There have been breakfasts and dinners, meet and greets and various activities. Today (Saturday) is the last full day here. We leave out tomorrow morning and start our journey west to Washington over the next two weeks.
